La Laguna (Tenerife) (EFE).- The leader of Drago Verdes Canarias, Alberto Rodríguez, has indicated this Thursday that his formation will support Sumar’s candidacy for the general elections as long as it respects “Canarian obedience”, according to which the “decisions, debates and proposals” that affect the islands are taken from the archipelago.
During a press conference held in La Laguna, Rodríguez has admitted that they are in “the full process of dialogue” with Yolanda Díaz’s political platform a few days before the deadline to formalize the alliances and has highlighted the “respect clear and emphatic right of the Canarian people to configure themselves as their own political subject”.
“We believe that it is important that there are Canarian voices in Congress that defend a change in the production model and that they defend that in the archipelago, with the wealth that is generated here, it is possible to live in a much better way than it is now. As long as Canarian obedience is respected”, explained the leader of Drago and former leader of Podemos.
“If this is respected,” he continued, “they will find an interlocutor in Drago” who is looking for “decisions to be made from the Canary Islands, proposals are made, the position of the vote is decided, resources and teams are managed, among Another questions”.
When asked if he would abandon the position of representation that he just obtained in the La Laguna City Council in the recent local elections for a position of deputy in Congress led by Yolanda Díaz, Rodríguez indicated that this is a scenario of “fictional politics” ” and corresponds to an approach “that has never been done”.
“The deadlines are what they are, very short. There are many interlocutions, there are many spaces that want to reach a broad agreement, so it makes no sense for us to project ourselves four or five steps ahead of the moment we are in” concluded the leader of Drago. EFE
