Madrid, (EFE).- Telefónica has appointed Rosauro Varo vice-president of the Board of Directors of Movistar Plus +, who until now was vice-president of Prisa and who on Wednesday announced her resignation as a member of the Board of the Spanish media conglomerate.
Rosauro Varo is one of the three new directors who have been chosen by Telefónica as members of the Movistar Plus + Board, which now has ten members, compared to the previous seven, according to Telefónica sources.
Resign as member of the Board of Prisa
For its part, Prisa has announced this Wednesday in a relevant event that Varo has resigned as a member of the Board, as vice-president and as a member of the Delegate Committee and of the Appointments, Remuneration and Corporate Governance Committee.
New professional projects
His decision is motivated by his new professional projects, which may mean that he does not have enough time and dedication necessary for these positions, according to the Prisa communication.
Two other new directors
The other two new directors who have been elected to the Movistar Plus+ Board are Verónica Pascual and Iván Bohórquez, according to the Spanish telecommunications multinational, which has reported that Sergio Oslé will continue to be the president of this subsidiary, which groups the production businesses and management of the audiovisual area.
Verónica Pascual has been a member of the Telefónica Board of Directors since 2019 and belongs to the Advisory Council of Telefónica Tech; while Iván Bohórquez was the founder of Smartener, a company specialized in renewable energy.
Rosauro Varo, for his part, is president of GAT investments and was vice president of PepePhone.
