Valladolid (EFE).- The president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco (PP), has discounted this Tuesday that the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez (PSOE), will leave that position after the elections on July 23 and has recommended to the leader of the PSOE in this Community, Luis Tudanca, that he “have a good summer, in case he does not return” to the regional Parliament.
“After July 23, he will no longer have to ask Sánchez for anything, he has lost 5 years, his time is up,” argued Mañueco in his response to a parliamentary question about the lack of aid from the Board to alleviate the drought , formulated before the Plenary of the Cortes by the socialist spokesman, Luis Tudanca.
Attacks on PP and Vox
Before those words from Mañueco about the results of 28M and his omen for 23J, Tudanca has also argued in an electoral key: “Be careful with invasive species and weeds because they end up damaging the ecosystem and especially those who live in it site, Mr. Mañueco”, in reference to the coalition of the PP with Vox in Castilla y León.
This has been the crossroads of arguments about the electoral environment in which political news in the Community is advancing, although both have dedicated a large part of their respective interventions to the subject that Tudanca was asking about, linked to the measures against drought in the Community .
Despite the issue, both have maintained the scheme of confrontation between the central government and the autonomous government, since while the socialist has accused Mañueco of doing “absolutely nothing” to help farmers and ranchers in the face of aid from the Executive of Sánchez, the autonomous president, has insisted on the argument of the “grievance” towards the professionals of the Community, with “half” the help of the Government than in other autonomies.
Zero aid
Tudanca has ironized that the debate on the amount of aid received in Castilla y León and other communities can focus on the level of drought that exists in some territories and others, but added that in the case of aid from the Board there is no doubt because they are “zero patatero”. “Zero work”, has summed up the socialist.
Mañueco has replied that “here the only one that has left the farmers and ranchers of Castilla y León stranded has been the Government of Sánchez”, which he has linked to a “botch” that implies that in other autonomies they receive twice as much aid: “It must seem very progressive to you, continue with that message that I see that lately you and your political formation are doing very well,” he also added in an electoral key.
Reproaches to Soria Now!
The president has also responded with electoral arguments to the question formulated by the Soria Ya parliamentarian, Ángel Céña, interested in knowing the date on which the Radiotherapy Unit will be in service at the Soria hospital.
“The radiotherapy unit will be in operation throughout 2025, although I am going to tell you one thing, I am going to be vigilant so that this radiotherapy unit and all of them can speed up as much as possible”, Mañueco responded in the first instance, before the distrust of the parliamentarians of Soria Ya, who have recalled that this promise was made by the then president Juan Vicente Herrera 19 years ago.
After defending his government’s commitment to improving health in Soria and the rest of the provinces of the Community, Mañueco has taken advantage of Soria Ya’s decision not to stand in the municipal elections to accuse them of having “hidden”.
“How much is the word of a president of the Junta de Castilla y León worth? Little or nothing”, Ceña summarized before Mañueco delved into the puya: “Mr. Ceña, you arrive rested and I am glad of it. I see that these days of the electoral campaign he has worked little or nothing.
“They have put themselves in profile, there were municipal elections and all the people of Soriano were waiting for you and you have gone to hide behind the burladero,” the president attacked.
Mañueco compares Igea with “Torquemada”
Mañueco has also responded to a question asked by the representative of Cs, Francisco Igea, about the public ethics of the members of the Board, although in that face-to-face the electoral reproaches have surfaced more.
“This gentleman who has applauded so much is going to be mayor thanks to the fact that you are going to break your word by agreeing with Vox,” Igea began, referring to the PP candidate for Mayor of Valladolid and former Minister of the Presidency, Jesús Julio Carnero, to who has criticized that he has taken advantage of the fact that he paid with public money for contracts to people who have subsequently made promotional videos for his electoral campaign, in reference to the one made by the television station Jesús Calleja.
Igea has accused Mañueco of having given a “letter of nature” to the PP pacts with Vox with “populist policies” of which the leader of Castilla y León is no longer “an anecdote, but a category” and has managed to “normalize ” to those who “put our freedoms, our rights, our health at risk, even, thanks to the follow-up that you, Mr. Mañueco, have made of them and that has made you a precursor of what is going to happen in this country” .
election results
“There is nothing more populist than trying to be a visagrista”, Mañueco began by responding, who asked Igea to reflect on the role he has played in the fall in the electoral results of Cs.
On this point, the president has ironized Igea’s commitment to “unity”, since he has blamed him for having gone from 12 to a solicitor in the Cortes and from 28 councilors in provincial capitals to one in Segovia, after the municipal elections on Sunday: “That is his great bet to work for unity. Congratulations, Mr. Igea, congratulations”.
Finally, after reproaching him for requesting the resignation of the Cs leaders for deciding not to stand in the general elections, Mañueco added: “I see, Mr. Igea, everyone here has to resign except you.” EFE
