Mérida.- The president of the Board and general secretary of the socialists of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, will not “immediately” execute his re-entry as a forensic doctor before the announcement of the advancement of general elections by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.
In a statement from the PSOE in Extremadura, the provincial secretary, Rafael Lemus, has confirmed that Vara has submitted his request for reinstatement to his job as a forensic doctor at the Institute of Legal Medicine of Badajoz on Monday morning.
“However, the announcement made at 11 a.m. this morning by the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, calling general elections for next July 23 has meant that, for the moment, said request will not be executed immediately,” states the statement.
According to the Socialists, the call for the elections “implies a new political scenario”, in such a way that it will be at the meeting of the Regional Executive Commission of the PSOE of Extremadura that is held tomorrow Tuesday in Mérida where this situation regarding the future will be addressed. of the general secretary.
The meeting will take place at 5:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the PSOE of Extremadura in Mérida and, after it, Guillermo Fernández Vara himself is expected to appear before the media.
Fernández Vara had said that if he failed to govern he would abandon his political career and, although the PSOE and the PP have tied for 28 seats, the possibilities of possible pacts are reduced to the sphere of the right, since Vox, which opens in the Parliament of Extremadura , has obtained five, while United for Extremadura maintains the four of the last legislature.
