Pamplona (EFE).- The pacts, as is usual in Navarra, will once again decide the future Government after elections in which UPN has won again, although again it could remain in opposition if the Government formula that in 2019 it made possible the access to the presidency of the socialist María Chivite.
María Chivite herself has shown tonight her desire to lead a progressive government with her current partners, Geroa Bai, Podemos and Izquierda-Ezkerra, the latter two integrated into the Contigo Navarra-Zurekin Nafarroa coalition.
The entry of Vox for the first time in the Parliament of Navarra, with 2 representatives, is one of the novelties of the Chamber, from which Ciudadanos leaves and in which EH Bildu consolidates itself as the third political force in Navarra with 9 seats, two more than in the last legislature.
In the current legislature, the Abertzale coalition was fourth, behind Geroa Bai, who came to occupy that position after losing two representatives.
The PSN is decisive again
In 2019, the members of the Foral Government won 23 seats (11 from the PSN, 9 from Geroa Bai, 2 from Podemos and 1 from IE) and María Chivite became president with a simple majority with five of the EH representatives abstaining Bildu.
In these elections that representation has been reduced by 2 as the coalition led by Uxue Barkos lost 2 seats, the PSN maintains its 11 parliamentarians and the Contigo Navarra coalition the 3 that Podemos and IE added.
For its part, EH Bildu has gained weight when it comes to negotiating, which once again puts on the table a possible negotiation in which the mayoralty of Pamplona comes into play, where the PSN has the key to governability.
In Pamplona, UPN has been the force with the most votes and has achieved 9 councilors to which the 2 of the PP could add, while EH Bildu could add that same number by joining its 8 councilors to the 2 of Geroa Bai and the mayor of Contigo -Navarre.
In this case, the role of the PSN is once again decisive, as happened in 2019 when its candidate decided to vote for herself and Navarra Suma became mayor.
