Palma, May 23 (EFE).- The insurance company Mapfre has extended its collaboration agreement with the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP) to be for three more years, until 2025, main sponsor of the Copa del Rey sailing, which this year celebrates the forty-first edition.
The agreement has been made clear with the signing of Emerico Fuster, president of the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP) and the regatta organizing committee, and José Manuel Inchausti, CEO of Mapfre Iberia, at the insurer’s headquarters. Raúl Costilla, CEO of Mapfre Vida, and Manuel Fraga, director of the RCNP, also participated in said act, according to the organizers of the nautical competition in a statement.
Emerico Fuster has valued this renewal: “For the club and for Spanish sailing, it is a source of pride to be able to renew Mapfre’s confidence once again for the Copa del Rey, thus allowing us to promote the sport of sailing and its values such as commitment, teamwork and sustainability. For all of this, our utmost gratitude.”
For his part, José Manuel Inchausti pointed out that this agreement reinforces Mapfre’s commitment to sailing and to this historic event, “to which the company has been linked for 16 years now, as it shares with it the values of effort, solidarity and eagerness of overcoming that the sailors show year after year”.
Mapfre’s union with one of the main sailing regattas in the Mediterranean, the Copa del Rey, began in 2007.
This year, the regatta will celebrate its 41st edition from Sunday, July 30 to Saturday, August 5.
More than a hundred teams from more than twenty nationalities meet every year in Palma to compete in one of the world’s leading cruising class regattas.
