Logroño, (EFE).- The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has accused the PNV on Wednesday of trying to “break the flagship of La Rioja”, wine, and has considered that “it would not have been bad for it to go ahead” Viñedos de Álava brand to “find out which businessmen (the nationalists) use as a battering ram and which wine should not be drunk”.
Abascal thus defended it during a Vox rally in Logroño, together with his party’s candidates for the Presidency of the Government of La Rioja, Ángel Alda, and for the Mayor of Logroño, María Jiménez.
The president of Vox recalled that he is from Álava, “but I am not an exploited neighbor” of La Rioja, since “in this party we also say in Bilbao that we are against the Basque Concert and the tax privilege that it implies because it is an attack on the equality of the Spaniards” and “there are other parties that say one thing here and another there”.
It has affected that the Basque nationalists “are bothered that the Rioja Alavesa looks more like La Rioja” and “they say they do not want the centralism of Madrid, but then they do want theirs” and “that is why they want to break your flagship, the Rioja wine, but we have soaked them”.
Abascal has alluded to the president of the regional government, the socialist Concha Andreu, who “has been complicit in a policy that has become a plague and a disaster for Spain” and “has not defended our wine”.
For him, “the attacks do not only come from Vitoria”, since “in Brussels they are doing everything possible to give it the same treatment as the distillates”, something that means that “once again the political caste goes against the interests of so many La Rioja families ”.
“It depends on you that this social and patriotic alternative evicts Andreu and makes his socialist and communist policies disappear,” Abascal concluded to the shouts of the public’s “president, president” assistants.
Abascal: Sánchez, whether he wins or not, is going to agree with ETA
In a national key, Abascal has said that the President of the Government, (Pedro) “Sánchez, whether he wins or not, is going to agree with ETA, and Mr. Feijóo (leader of the PP), even if Sánchez agrees with ETA or whatever it takes , he will tell him, if you are the list with the most votes, I will let you govern ”.
“But how can you offer that to the partner of EH Bildu and, above all, how can you renounce it”, he added.
For this reason, he has addressed the militancy of his party to tell them that “you do not have to vote for the PP either” because “they are not trustworthy” and “the only guarantee that an alternative is assumed is to vote for Vox”, which is leaving to become “the third political force and we will end up being the first”.
Abascal added that “the other great idea that Mr. Feijóo just came up with today was that since Bildu cannot be outlawed, he asks the PSOE for a commitment not to agree” with this political force, which, for him, it is like “asking for pears from the elm”.
“What is that about not making Bildu illegal?; Are they cheating their voters again?” asked Abascal, who has stressed that Vox has brought the proposal to outlaw this party to the Congress of Deputies, as UPyD did in 2015.
Abascal has stressed that, when this vote takes place, “everyone will have to take their picture and we fear that the same thing will happen as in 2015, when all the deputies, except the five from UPyD, voted against (this outlawing) for indignity of the Parliament that represents the national sovereignty”.
“We do not want the turn to govern, we want to change everything, what the PP says is not worth it, scaring people, that the priority is to throw Sánchez out. The priority is to change all of Sánchez’s policies, ”he stressed.
At Vox, he continued, “we don’t want socialist politicians, or socialist policies with the acronyms of others, who are just waiting for their turn to sit on the couch. We want a complete alternative”.
