Barcelona (EFE).- The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested a man this Monday in Manresa (Barcelona) for his alleged connection with the violent death of his sentimental partner, who was pregnant, on May 6 in that town.
As reported to EFE by sources from the Mossos d’Esquadra, police investigations and forensic medical reports indicate that there are sufficient indications of criminality in this violent death, in which the partner of the deceased woman would be implicated.
The events occurred during the early hours of May 6 at the couple’s home, located on Gaudí street in the Sagrada Familia neighborhood of Manresa.
At first, the Mossos did not treat this case as a violent death, since during the first visual inspection no signs of criminality or sufficient evidence were found on the woman’s body to be considered a homicide.

However, as established by the protocol, the Catalan police opened an investigation to clarify the facts, which together with the result of the autopsy have determined that it was indeed a violent death and that, in addition, there are indications of the possible participation of the man in the crime.
As a result of these police inquiries and the forensic result, the Mossos arrested the suspect on Monday, who is currently at the Manresa police station, waiting to go to court.
Sources close to the investigation have informed EFE that the woman, in her thirties, was pregnant.
The Mossos investigation is still open and the judge has decreed the secrecy of the proceedings, so it has not been revealed if there were previous complaints of ill-treatment or if the man arrested has a record.
