Madrid, May 14 (EFE).- This Sunday there will be persistent rains in the eastern Cantabrian Sea and northern Navarra, rainfall that will be locally strong in eastern Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, with a drop in temperatures on the western Andalusian coast, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
The Aemet has put a yellow warning for rain in the Balearic Islands, Navarra and the Basque Country and for wind in Aragon and Catalonia.
In the rest of the Peninsula there will be the possibility of some showers or storms, of a weaker nature, except in the southwest, where there will be little cloudiness.
The snow level will be around 1,900/2,100 meters in the north, 2,200/2,400 in the central area, and about 2,500 in the south.
In the Canary Islands there will be intervals of low clouds in the north of the islands, and little cloudiness in the south, with intervals of strong wind.
Daytime temperatures will drop on the coast of western Andalusia, they will rise in the rest of the western third of the peninsula and in the Mediterranean area, and in the rest they will remain unchanged; while the nocturnal ones will have few changes, but they will leave weak frosts in the Pyrenees.
The wind will blow from the north component in most of the country, except in the Mediterranean area and Andalusia, where they will be from a variable direction. There will be periods of strong wind in the Ebro valley.
PREDICTION BY AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITIES:
– GALICIA: probable scattered mists and mists in elevated areas at the beginning and end. Cloudy at dawn throughout the territory, which will remain during the day in the northern third and which will decrease to slightly cloudy skies in the rest. In the north there will be scattered light rains that will subside. The temperatures will drop in general, which in the case of the minimum will be mild on the northern and eastern coasts of Lugo and Ourense, and in the case of the maximum mild also but on the coasts. The wind will blow lightly from the north and northeast, more intense on the Atlantic coasts and on those located south of Fisterra, they will show a gusty character in the afternoon.
– ASTURIAS: cloudy, with probable mists and scattered mists in the mountain areas at the beginning and end. Weak rains, somewhat more intense and frequent in the eastern interior, which will subside from the west throughout the afternoon. Temperatures will rise slightly, a rise that in the case of the maximum will be more accentuated in the western interior. Light winds from the north and northwest that will turn west on the coast at the end.
– CANTABRIA: cloudy or covered skies, with probable scattered mists in the elevated areas of the interior at the beginning and at the end. Widespread rains, which will be less intense in the southern regions in the afternoon, but which will be persistent in the eastern interior. It is not excluded that they may be accompanied by an isolated stormy shower during the morning. Temperatures without changes or on a gentle rise, although the minimums of the eastern half are more accentuated. Winds from the northwest, light in the interior and more intense on the coast throughout the day and in the south in central hours, which in general will show a gusty character.
– BASQUE COUNTRY: cloudy or overcast skies, with probable scattered mists and mists in elevated inland areas, which will be accompanied by widespread and locally persistent rains, which will be less frequent and intense on the western coast and in the southern half of Álava. It is not excluded that they can also be accompanied by some isolated stormy shower in the morning. Temperatures without changes or on a slight rise, which in the case of the minimums in Vizcaya and Guipúzcoa will be more pronounced. Northwest winds, somewhat weaker inland at dawn and at the end of the day, which in general will show a gusty character.
– CASTILLA Y LEÓN: cloudy or overcast skies in the north and northeast, and a predominance of slightly cloudy in the rest, although evolutionary cloudiness will increase in the afternoon, especially in the east. Weak rainfall in the Cantabrian, Iberian and northeast, and scattered afternoon showers in the east, especially in the Central System. The snow level will be above 1,800 or 2,000 meters. Minimum temperatures slightly rising, and maximum temperatures with few changes in the east and slightly rising in the west. Weak frosts in high mountain areas. Northeast and north wind intensifying in the second half of the day.
– NAVARRE: in the northern half there will be cloudy or overcast skies, with probable mists and mists in elevated areas and widespread and locally persistent rains in the northern third, which cannot be excluded in addition to some isolated stormy showers, but which will decrease in intensity in the afternoon. In the southern half, cloudy skies, with light rain, without ruling out that they are accompanied by a shower, which will clear up as the rainfall subsides. Temperatures unchanged or slightly rising. – ARAGÓN: on the Pyrenees divide, sky covered with precipitation. In the rest, cloudy intervals and cloudiness of diurnal evolution with probability of scattered showers and some occasional storm in the afternoon in the Iberian System and other areas of the eastern half. The snow level will rise from 1,600-1,800 meters to 2,000 meters. Slightly rising temperatures. In the Ebro valley, moderate northwest wind with strong intervals and very strong gusts, and in the rest, light to moderate north and northwest wind.
– CATALONIA: on the northern slope of the Pyrenees, covered with rainfall. In the rest, cloudy intervals and cloudiness of diurnal evolution, with showers accompanied by occasional storms in the eastern half, and without ruling out in isolation in the rest; in the northeast quadrant it is not ruled out that they are locally strong. The snow level will rise from 1,600-1,800 meters to 2,000 meters. Rising temperatures, light in the minimum and more pronounced in the maximum. In the Ampurdán and south of Tarragona, moderate north and northwest wind, with strong intervals and very strong gusts in the extreme south at the end; variable weak in the rest, with intervals of a moderate southern component on the coast.
– EXTREMADURA: slightly cloudy or clear skies, although with intervals of evolving cloudiness, and slightly rising minimum temperatures, and rising maximums. Light north and northeast winds.
– COMMUNITY OF MADRID: intervals of low clouds and mists in the Sierra. In the rest, slightly cloudy, with increased cloudiness at cloudy intervals of evolution, with some weak showers in the Sierra that could occasionally be accompanied by storms. In the rest, light showers and occasional storms are not ruled out. Temperatures unchanged or slightly rising. North component wind, weak with some more intense intervals during the afternoon in the north.
– CASTILLA-LA MANCHA: intervals of low clouds in the northeast, with some mist in the mountains and little cloudiness in the rest. During the morning the cloudiness will increase at cloudy intervals of evolution mainly in mountainous areas and in the eastern third. Showers and storms that could be locally strong, until the morning throughout the archipelago and during the afternoon in the interior and south of Mallorca. – ANDALUSIA: Morning mists in the western third, without ruling out mists.
