València (EFE).- The president of the Generalitat and candidate for reelection by the PSPV-PSOE, Ximo Puig (Morella, Castellón, 1959), tells EFE that the most social network he knows is “the street”, which The Valencian Community is “the best place in the world” and that he would like a series about Joaquín Sorolla, “the master of light” to be filmed here.
Puig, general secretary of the Valencian Socialists, who has presided over the Consell since 2015 thanks to the Botànic Pact and is the only one of the 2019 candidates to repeat in the regional elections on May 28, aspires for his party to repeat as the most voted in the Community and expand its support to have more strength in a reissue of the progressive pact.
QUESTION: Define the Valencian Community in one sentence.
ANSWER: The best place in the world to live. A land in which, through social dialogue, there has been a transition from unemployment, corruption and the deterioration of public services, from the time of the PP, to this new time, to progress and opportunities.
first measure
Q: If you win and become president of the Generalitat again, your first step would be…
A: A pioneering action: that a family of two children in the Valencian Community be considered a large family. It is the first autonomy that will do so and 265,000 families will benefit. This means aid in education, transportation, and taxation for more than a million Valencians. Measures for the social majority, adapted to the new ways of life, promoting the birth rate, conciliation.
Q: Three words with which you would like to define your community at the end of your term.
A: Growth, equality and sustainability.
Q: What series would you like to see filmed in the Region?
A: I am launching an idea: a series about Sorolla, the master of light, who has sublimely reflected the essence of the Valencian Community and has taken it to the rest of the world. A series whose interiors could be shot in the City of Light, in Alicante.
Networks
Q: Are you an active person on social networks? Which do you prefer?
A: The most social network I know is the street. Those are the ‘likes’ that I value the most, the ones that interest me the most. On digital networks, like everything else, virtue is in balance. I am very concerned that boys and girls end up confusing friends with followers of the networks.
Q: What is your favorite part of the campaign? What are you most looking forward to these weeks?
A: Contact with people in the squares, in the streets. Share this conversation with people. With a single objective: to help everyone live better. It is a project for the majority. And an anecdote: it was special to speak in the square of the school where I studied. That’s where it all started, that’s why I’m here today: because of the values I learned at that school. EFE
