The candidate for the Presidency of Navarra for UPN, Javier Esparza, has assured, in the act of starting the electoral campaign, that UPN is “the only party capable of gathering enough support to unseat Chivite”. He has also denounced that the rest of the formations are “franchises” of their brands in Madrid or Bilbao. “The only party capable of gathering enough support to unseat Chivite is UPN”, he stressed, pointing out that this is replicated in a large part of the Town Halls of the Foral Community.
The PSN candidate, María Chivite, held the campaign opening ceremony in the Ciudadela Weapons Room, where she explained that they are “very close to catching up with UPN and winning the elections.” “If we push these days we can have that government that we want for Navarra, away from the ashes. And wanting to move forward, I aspire to have a sufficient majority to govern. And we are going to achieve it with those who already trusted and with those who have seen how it is governed with a socialist presidency. If they don’t want us to have external dependencies, they should support us”, she said.
Geroa Bai’s candidate for the Presidency of Navarra, Uxue Barkos, has assured at the start of the campaign that they are out to “win” and willing to lead a “brave government” for a Navarra “without guardianships”. Barkos has defended the decision taken four years ago, when they decided to become part of the Government of Navarra, pointing out that they have the “conviction” that they took the right path.
EH Bildu, with the presence of Otegi
The head of the list of EH Bildu to the Provincial Parliament, Laura Aznal, has opted for “a stronger EH Bildu is a guarantee to put an end to right-wing governments and policies in Nafarroa”. Aznal recalled that “if the right has been removed from the government of Navarra and from many town halls, it is by force and the decisive role of Euskal Herria Bildu in recent years. And the nervousness of some is evident. Because they know that a stronger EH Bildu is a guarantee to definitively put an end to right-wing governments and policies in Nafarroa”.
The candidate for the presidency of Navarra for the PP, Javier García, has assured during the act of starting the electoral campaign held in Pamplona that they are the only “real alternative” to the socialist María Chivite since “all the others are looking for a way to agree with her.”
Contigo Navarra-Zurekin Nafarroa has presented itself in the act of beginning the campaign as the force that is going to “revolutionize” Navarre politics, which is going to “be the surprise” on May 28, in the words of its candidate for the Presidency of Navarra, Begoña Alfaro, who predicted that the Foral Community “will continue to position itself as progressive”.
The Ciudadanos candidate for the Presidency of the Government of Navarra, Carlos Pérez-Nievas, has presented his campaign slogan for Navarra “We are more than Fueros, we are Citizens”. He has also explained that it is time for “no one to feel suffocated by the coiled beret of Navarrese”.
