Seville, (EFE).- The controversial Doñana irrigation law promoted by the PP with the support of Vox in the Andalusian Parliament will continue its urgent processing, according to EFE sources from the Andalusian Government and the PP, who have denied that the process has slowed down and place its approval for the month of July.
The Parliament of Andalusia agreed on April 12 to start the processing of the bill with the support of the PP and Vox, and the rejection of the PSOE, Por Andalucía and Adelante Andalucía, through the urgent procedure.
The different sources consulted by EFE indicate that the schedule and deadlines are being met, so that on May 30, after the municipal elections, the Bureau of the Development Commission will agree on the appearing parties and will draw up a schedule.
Predictably, the appearances of the experts and social agents proposed by the groups would begin in mid-June, while the final approval of the law by the plenary session of Parliament will be in July, before the end of the current session.
There is no slowdown, no freezing
“There is no slowdown in the emergency process,” sources from the Andalusian government and the PP have assured EFE after some media have published that the process has been “frozen.”
The PP and Vox bill proposes expanding the irrigable agricultural areas in the Condado de Huelva region by some 800 hectares, whose owners were left out of regulation in 2014, and which affects the municipalities of Almonte, Bonares, Lucena del Puerto, Moguer and Rociana del Condado.
The PP argues that these crops will be irrigated with surface water from the transfer of the Tinto, Odiel and Piedras rivers, not with water from the Doñana aquifer, but the initiative has provoked the rejection of the central government, the European Commission, experts and ecologists , who fear that it will end up affecting the Doñana park.
President Juanma Moreno has confirmed that he is willing to approve the rule and “listen, speak and dialogue”, so he does not rule out modifying it to “improve and enrich it”.
“From here, what is the solution that we propose to farmers? Because we will have to offer them something and that is why we cannot withdraw anything without an alternative, ”he remarked in Parliament. EFE
