A company that, as he has stressed, plans to continue growing, gaining market share and strengthening its brand on the basis of sustainability and social responsibility, objectives that respond to a strategic need and that match the interests of the whole of society.
The objective, according to the president, is for Andalusia to establish itself as the number one community in clean energy and in the good management of waste and raw materials.
Three energy challenges
“Our ambition in this legislature is for this community to have 75% of its electricity generation from renewable sources. Today it already represents 56% of the installed energy, more than 10,000 MW and we are going to another 12,000 MW ”, he pointed out.
The Andalusian president highlighted the long history of the Mahou San Miguel de Málaga brewery, which has allowed him to recognize opportunities and know that the best formula to always be up-to-date and maintain leadership is constant renewal.
Moreno has indicated that we are facing three challenges that are key in Andalusia, in Spain and in Europe and that companies can contribute, such as the need to reindustrialize ourselves, to decarbonize the economy through renewable energies and to gain energy sovereignty and over Supply Chain.
He added that energy and industrial measures are key to creating that favorable environment that achieves true economic transformation and has opted to continue attracting industrial investment from large companies such as Mahou for what it means for the regional economy.
The importance of Mahou in Andalusia
This family company, leader in beverages in our country, is the brewery with the most production centers in Andalusia, since the center of Malaga is joined by the two plants it has in Granada and in Córdoba, a natural mineral water spring in Jaén , logistics warehouses and an own distributor.
In Andalusia, Mahou creates 480 direct jobs and 23,000 indirect jobs related to its activity.
Moreno has assured that it is a very veteran company, but with an enormously young and innovative entrepreneurial spirit and that it also buys from three hundred local companies, which is also a very important element for the local economy.
