Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (EFE).- The Guaguas faces this Saturday against the Río Duero Soria the opportunity to make history in Spanish volleyball, proclaiming itself champion of the Super League without having lost a single game in the entire competition.
In a statement, the Guaguas coach, Sergio Camarero, explains that his players reach the third game of the final -2-0 in their favor- “in a good moment, both mentally and physically, and with the illusion of making history ”.
“We face a great team. To break him we will have to play a good volleyball game”, advances Camarero.
Guaguas arrives at the event after having won the first two matches of the final in the Los Pajaritos de Soria pavilion (0-3 and 1-3), for which a victory this Saturday at the Centro Insular de Deportes de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria would give him the title.
If the match is won by the Sorianos, a fourth game will be played on Sunday, also at the Centro Insular.
“We are very focused, the team has trained very well this week and is at its best to face this final,” says the coach, who believes that the keys to winning will be for the team to “do their job well and be successful at the end of set”.
Camarero anticipates that “it will be a rocky match” in which they hope to have the support and drive of the fans.
The match between the Guaguas and the Río Duero Soria will take place this Saturday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m. (Canarian time) at the Gran Canaria Island Sports Center, with the refereeing of Juan Antonio Erce Álvarez and Rafael González Tabares. EFE
