Madrid (EFE).- The attendance of the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, at the institutional acts for the Dos de Mayo festival has further strained the relationship between the Executive of Isabel Díaz Ayuso and the Government of Pedro Sánchez in the final race to the elections.
Díaz Ayuso will preside over the acts this Tuesday between the controversy over the institutional representation of the Government in the celebration of the day of the Community of Madrid, to which, as confirmed by the central Executive, the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, and Bolaños will attend as a companion, together with the Government delegate, Francisco Martín.
According to the Government’s agenda, Minister Robles is the one who attends on behalf of the Executive, and the Minister of the Presidency as a companion, and from Puerta del Sol they keep the pulse of the Government and assure that Bolaños “will not be in the rostrum of authorities of the military parade ”, emphasize sources from the Madrid Executive.
While the government accuses the Madrid president of turning the Dos de Mayo party “into a political fight,” the Minister of Territorial Policy and spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, said on Monday.
This clash has added to the disagreement also this week with the Sánchez Executive for the permission of the Government Delegation to a demonstration of those affected by Metro line 7B in the vicinity of Puerta del Sol, epicenter of institutional acts.
Although, initially, the protest by the residents of San Fernando de Henares was going to take place in front of the headquarters of the Executive of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, once the celebrations at the Real Casa de Correos had finished, the Government Delegation in Madrid moved its location to nearby Arenal street, after complaints from the Madrid government, which in turn has angered the organizers.
A Dos de Mayo loaded with political representation
Given the proximity of the elections on May 28, this will be a Dos de Mayo full of political representation among the 800 guests, including the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, as well as former Madrid presidents and the heads of the list for the elections.
Some 250 journalists will follow the events, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the La Florida cemetery, where Díaz Ayuso will preside over the traditional tribute to the Heroes of Dos de Mayo, light the Votive Flame in their honor, sign the Book of Honor and will place a laurel wreath on the tombstone.
Subsequently, at the Real Casa de Correos, at 11:00 a.m., the Madrid president will present the medals of the Community of Madrid and the decorations of the Order of Dos de Mayo to a total of 17 personalities, institutions and social entities, such as Juan Carlos Quer, father of Diana Quer, the Luzón Foundation for the fight against ALS, the singer Dani Martín or the soccer player Koke, among others.
After the awards ceremony, the celebrations will move to 12:30 outside the Real Casa de Correos, where the civic-military act will take place with its traditional parade.
