Huelva, (EFE).- A woman has died and another 25 have been injured, including seven with a very serious prognosis, when a bus carrying Moroccan seasonal workers overturned in the Huelva municipality of Almonte (Huelva), as reported by the Emergency service 112 of Andalusia.
The accident occurred at kilometer 16 of the A-484 highway at 6:25 this morning, when, for unknown reasons, the bus left the road and overturned.
According to the first provisional data provided by the Health Emergencies Center (CES 061) to 112, the wrecked bus was traveling with 38 workers; one of them has died in the accident, another seven have been very seriously injured and 18 more are slightly injured.
All those affected are being evacuated to hospitals in Huelva and Seville.
Investigation of what happened
The health services of 061 and the Primary Care Emergency Service (SUAP) continue to work in the incident, together with members of the Local Police, the Civil Guard and Traffic Service Operations Center (COS), the Provincial Firefighters Consortium and Maintenance of Roads.
From the Civil Guard it has been specified that Traffic agents have opened an investigation to clarify what happened, while the road where the accident occurred remains cut off in both directions.
For her part, the mayoress of Almonte (Huelva), Rocío del Mar Castellano, in an audio sent to the media, has shown the dismay of the City Council for the “serious accident” and has conveyed her condolences for the death of the worker .
After wishing a speedy recovery from the injuries, he has valued the work and involvement of the Local Police that “has been at all times collaborating in the rescue efforts with the health services, the Civil Guard and the fire brigade”. EFE
