Santa Cruz de Tenerife (EFE) tie that has ended with an overall score of 1-3.
Once again, the Manzano-Matienzo duo and the power to serve were decisive for Olímpico to win a duel that, as in the three previous clashes, was very close, and which allowed them to lift the second league title in their history .
After the initial games in which both teams calibrated sensations (14-14), Gran Canaria curdled a 0-4 partial with which they began to escape (14-18) and lead the conquest of the first set of the match (19- 25).
The local team went into the next chapter with clear intentions of taking the initiative (10-6) and despite the fact that through Dias and Manzano Hidramar returned the tables (10-10), the blue and white team tied the set after a partial of 7-2 (17-12) that those in yellow failed to cut (25-19).
The following game was a constant tug of war with both teams preventing the rival from separating by an advantage of more than two points (17-17), but in the final stretch the blocks of Nsunguimina and the Cuban Arredondo marked the difference in favor of the locals (25-20).
With the 2-1 draw, Tenerife was very predisposed to add the fourth set and provoke the fifth game of the tie, but the enormous tension on the court led the two teams to make several consecutive errors that led to the tie in the middle of the game (15-15).
As at any key moment, Hidramar needed its great players and right in the last stretch of the game points from Matienzo, Suarez, Vilvert and Manzano arrived to make it 18-25 and tie the game (2-2).
The yellow team went to the golden set with the inertia of the good final arreón of the previous chapter (4-6) but Nsunguimina continued to display his enormous courage and tied the contest with two whiplashes (6-6).
It turned out to be an insufficient effort for the blue and white team, unable to retain Hidramar and their 0-4 (6-10) run that forced the locals to row for the rest of the game, which was decided with two points from Matienzo and a Álvarez del Burgo blockade.
