Thousands of people have gathered this Sunday in Garrovillas de Alconétar (Cáceres) for the eighth edition of the Hunter’s Dayorganized by the Extremadura federation “to vindicate the pride of being a hunter” and the importance of the role of cane as an economic, social and cultural dynamizer in the rural world.
The attendees have been able to enjoy a full day of coexistence, since this event has an eminently family character, with the aim that both adults and children spend a fun day in the field, as recalled by the Extremadura Hunting Federation (Fedexcaza).
The programming included more than thirty activities that began at 9 in the morning with a free breakfast and is expected to last until well into the afternoon.
Throughout the day there has been time for contests, exhibitions, exhibitions, children’s games, visits from authorities, game meat tastings and other activities related to the hunting sector and its wide range of modalities.
“A sector united in the face of constant attacks and lies”
The president of the Extremadura Hunting Federation, José María Gallardo, stressed that days like today “are to vindicate the pride of being a hunter, showing that we are a united sector capable of facing the constant attacks and animalist lies”.
“Thanks to this unit we have managed to bend the will of a government, achieving that the hunting sector is excluded from the Animal Welfare Law”, pointed out the president of the Federation.
For his part, Manuel Gallardopresident of the Royal Spanish Hunting Federation, has also congratulated Extremadura hunters because the work carried out from Extremadura “is an example to follow, having achieved, among other things, that the main parties are united in giving support and explicit support for hunting.
The preacher of this edition has been the bullfighting rancher, Victorino Martinwhich pointed out the importance of the union and collaboration of all sectors of the rural world to be able to give a joint response “to the attacks of animalism”.
The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, Population and Territory of the Junta de Extremadura, begona garcia bernHe, who has attended the event, has highlighted that Extremadura “is leading the great advances in hunting at the national level”.
Previously, the distinctions have been delivered to local societies, hunters and entities that, due to their trajectory and support for the activity, are deserving of this recognition by their federation.
For Fedexcaza, this event has already been institutionalized as the great hunting festival in Extremadura, which today “has once again sent a message in defense of the activity to claim that the hunting sector in the region remains strong and united
