QUESTION: Define the Valencian Community in one sentence.
ANSWER: Throughout my life, due to my work, I have had the opportunity to teach Valencia to dozens and dozens of academics who have taken part in initiatives promoted from my University and have visited us from all corners of the world. The phrase that I have heard them pronounce most often is the one that best defines, in my opinion, this Community: “What a good place to live!”.
the first measure
Q: If you win and become regional president, your first step would be…
A: In the same way that before operating on a patient in the operating room it is necessary for the surgeon to make sure that all the instruments are prepared, clean, tidy and ready to be used, before addressing the problems of the Valencian Community, he is going to It will be necessary to ensure that the instrument that we are going to use – the Consell and the lower echelons – is in the ideal conditions to operate. A smaller but more effective Council, staffed by people –with or without a card– with proven experience and ability beyond any doubt.
Q: Three words with which you would like to define your community at the end of your term.
A: Let me tell you three that I would like to banish permanently from our vocabulary in the next four years: corruption, conflict and communism.
Q: What series would you like to see filmed in the Region?
A: The Valencian Community has a rich history, which, however, has only rarely, and not always fortunately, been brought to the screens of cinema or television. There are still dozens of episodes in our history unknown to those Valencians who hardly consume any other culture than the one that appears on their screens. Isn’t it incredible that there isn’t a film about the conquest of Valencia by James I? Or a series set in our Golden Age? Or that no one has brought Cabrera’s epic in the Maestrazgo to the screen?
Social networks
Q: Are you an active person on social networks? Which do you prefer?
A: I have never been a particularly active person on social networks: I am not interested in the private lives of others, nor do I need to publicly display my own. So, until the moment of entering politics, he only frequented LinkedIn, an eminently professional network. In recent months, Twitter has become one of my main work tools. And I’m afraid it won’t be long before I’m also on Instagram. Of course: I am the one who personally carry my networks.
Q: What is your favorite part of the campaign? What are you most looking forward to these weeks?
A: Without a doubt, the best thing about a campaign is that it is a unique opportunity to get to know your land and its people better and more closely. Visiting hitherto unknown corners of the Valencian Community, and – of course – listening to the problems of its people is a priceless gift. Because although the campaigns seem designed to speak, listening is even more important. EFE
