Huelva, (EFE).- The irrigators who aspire to regularize their irrigated farms in the Corona Norte de Doñana consider that “it is neither a possible nor viable solution” to exchange their land for others outside the pre-park, such as this week has been proposed by the former Vice President of the Government, Alfonso Guerra.
In statements to EFE, the spokesman for the Platform in Defense of Condado Irrigation, which brings together farmers from Moguer, Bonares, Lucena del Puerto, Rociana del Condado and Almonte, indicated that “what the families want is to recover the land that they inherit from their ancestors, their grandparents or their parents, and that they bought with a lot of effort to be able to earn a living and be able to cultivate”.
These lands are the protagonists of the proposed Law for the reorganization of irrigation in the North Crown of Doñana that, at the proposal of the PP and Vox, is being processed in the Andalusian Parliament.
“What they want is to cultivate when the water reaches the surface and if they wish they can also not do it in the exercise of their freedom or cede the water rights when the bill is approved and the change of soil classification is made” , has said.

What, in his opinion, “is not technically viable or possible, nor do we want it to be an exchange of land; we are outside the natural space the five municipalities live mainly from agriculture and the conditions do not exist in other areas of Huelva or outside to transplant this traditional agriculture of more than 60 years, therefore, it is not a possible or viable solution for us ”.
On the other hand, he has denounced what he considers a “fake” press conference, in relation to the one offered yesterday by representatives of the WWF organization in which they estimated at 1,907 hectares the area that could be legalized with the proposed Law that is being processed in the Parlament.
Díaz has indicated that WWF was “a partner in the mistake of the social drama that is being experienced in the area when in 2014 they participated in the regularization of those 9,430 hectares, leaving hundreds of families outside.”
A co-participation that is also reflected, he added, “with his silence in the face of the failed policies that have been carried out around Doñana and those that are missing, responsibilities of the Government of Spain for two decades and that have become the European sentence and in the situation in the one where Doñana is”.
