Vitoria (EFE).- King Emeritus Juan Carlos I has left Vitoria by plane, with an unknown destination, at 10.45 am.
He has remained for a day and a half in the private clinic of Dr. Eduardo Anitua.
There, apparently, he has undergone a routine medical examination.
The emeritus king arrived after seven in the afternoon on Sunday at the Foronda airport in Vitoria from Galicia.
Alli traveled last Wednesday to participate in the regattas that have been held in Sanxenxo (Pontevedra).
Finally he could not take part due to unfavorable weather conditions.
The king emeritus stayed in a private clinic
In the Álava capital he has remained since then housed in the clinic of Dr. Anitua.
Shortly before ten to ten in the morning, he left that medical center.
He has boarded a blue Mercedes van in the direction of Foronda airport to leave the Basque capital on a private flight with an unknown route.
Upon arrival at the aerodrome, he was photographed by one of his companions.
Although they have offered him help to climb the stairs of the plane, he has preferred to board the aircraft alone.
The plane took off shortly after a quarter to eleven in the morning.
It is not the first time that Juan Carlos I has visited the capital of Álava.
He has previously gone to Vitoria for personal reasons related to medical issues to be assisted by Eduardo Anitua and the traumatologist Mikel Sánchez.
Mikel Sánchez is specialized in arthroscopic surgery and develops his work at the Vithas San José Hospital in Vitoria.
Eduardo Anitua is the founder of the laboratory that developed plasma rich in growth factors.
Both were distinguished in 2014 with the National Award for Arts and Sciences Applied to Sports.
Juan Carlos I returned to Sanxenxo and then to Vitoria
Juan Carlos I returned to Spain on Wednesday from London to stay in Sanxenxo.
He was also in this coastal municipality eleven months ago during his first trip to the peninsula from Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).
He has resided in Abu Dhabi since August 2020 following the controversy over his wealth abroad.
The emeritus was unable to participate in any of the events of the II Volvo Autesa Club sailing competition due to bad weather conditions. EFE
