Oviedo (EFE).- The interim coordinator of Podemos Asturies, Rafael Palacios, today accused the critical sector of resorting to violence against workers and party leaders during the registration of the regional candidacy in the Electoral Board and of being part of a “Orchestrated operation” by “hidden” interests whose sole objective is to “destroy” the purple formation.
Palacios thus referred to the incidents recorded last night when the organization secretary, Olaya Suárez, and three Podemos workers went to the Provincial Electoral Board shortly before 11:00 p.m. where several members of the critical sector were gathered to protest the exclusion from the list chosen in primaries of number 4 of the candidacy, Jorge Fernández.
Fernández had finally been replaced by number 7, the Oviedo councilor Ana Taboada, as he was suspended from affiliation, a sanction that according to critics does not disqualify him from joining it.
After registering the candidacy, the representatives of Podemos were rebuked and prevented from walking while several of those gathered demanded that they show the list presented.
According to Palacios, who has demanded the head of the list, Covadonga Tomé, “to categorically condemn the violence of people who are part of the list”, this behavior adds to the “intolerable” harassment suffered by the leadership of Podemos since it He won the primaries “with permanent insults on social networks and in party organs” that have led to the resignation of the previous organization secretary and the discharge “due to mental health” of the regional coordinator.
Enclosure “with designer quilts”
The purple leader has also summoned the protagonists “of a confinement with designer quilts” that critics held since last Thursday at the Gijón headquarters to explain how they will act when they are elected deputies and if they are going to defend the party’s project “or their own interests” given, in their opinion, “they have their project elsewhere, but not in Podemos”.
In addition, it has indicated that the delay in the presentation of the candidacy was due to the delays in signing it by several members of the list attached to the critical sector and located in low positions, which forced them to be replaced at the last minute, something that demonstrates, according to Palacios , who were only interested in “the three outgoing ones”, also occupied by members of the current that won the primaries.
“We will have to see if they really do what they were threatening. In other parties there are people who said: we are leaving, and they left”, he pointed out in reference to the five IU candidates who yesterday resigned from integrating the list in disagreement with its final composition. EFE
