Lugo, Apr 23 (EFE).- Sergio Pellicer, Málaga’s coach, affirmed that permanence is still “difficult”, but pointed out that his team took “a small step” with their victory against Lugo (0-2).
The Andalusian team is provisionally two points away from remaining, awaiting what Racing Santander does.
“It’s still difficult but we’ve taken a little step,” he said at the press conference after the game, and advocated “controlling the euphoria,” but without cutting it off because “it’s the best energy.”
He stated that his team took advantage of Lugo’s “emotional crack” after the 0-1 draw to then score the second and regretted that in the second half they lacked “some calm”.
Pellicer thanked the “blessed madness of illusion” that exists in the Málaga fans, with half a thousand followers displaced to Lugo.
The only bad news for the Malaga team was the forced change of Ramón Enríquez, who suffered a quadriceps muscle injury, according to the coach, and became “dizzy from the pain.”
