Fuenlabrada (Madrid) (EFE).- The head of the Executive and leader of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, praised this Sunday the housing law that reaches full Congress on Thursday after the pact reached with the allies and has vindicated a government that defends “what the majority thinks and not the interests of a privileged minority.”
Sánchez has supported the Madrid socialist candidates in Fuenlabrada, a municipality governed by the PSOE and which was visited on Friday by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the Andalusian president, Juanma Moreno.
But he has not cited any of them and in his speech only the name of Alberto Núñez Feijóo and his “doubts” before the municipal authorities have appeared. “We have no doubt, we are going to win the elections in Madrid”, he assured.
The 28M, he has insisted, it is decided if we want governments for the majority or “governments that only dedicate themselves to their own and the interest of those above.”
He has devoted a good part of his speech to housing policy: on Thursday “the first housing law in the history of democracy” will be approved, which “will turn what is a problem into a constitutional right,” he stated, and “the Government is going to make the largest promotion of public housing, to place us at the forefront not of Europe, but beyond”.
Sánchez spoke about the houses
In front of some 1,500 attendees, and another 400 who followed him on large screens outside the venue, Sánchez assessed the decision to make the 50,000 bad bank homes available to city councils and communities, “the flats that the right-wing bought to rescue bankrupt banks.
“We are going to return them to the citizens and to the young people of the country”, he stressed before charging against the PP as the author of a land law that “opened the doors to speculation and corruption and sold public housing” to the vulture funds”
Sánchez has shown off a country that is growing more than the large European economies and has reformed pensions and the labor market with social peace.
“We are not going to talk about an economic miracle or that Spain is doing well, but we do say loud and clear that the PSOE manages the economy much better than the PP,” he said after pointing out that “the right fails more than a fair shotgun” in his black predictions.
And he has once again highlighted his concern for the climate emergency in the face of “Vox, which denies the effects of climate change, and the pp does not deny it, but acts as if it did not exist; some by action and others by omission, both are climate deniers”.
Before participating in the meeting, Sánchez visited a bookstore in Fuenlabrada on the occasion of Book Day and, already on stage, the socialist candidate for the Community of Madrid, Juan Lobato, gave him the book “The art of patience ”, because, he said, he faces with “the patience of holy Job” the catastrophizing of the doomsayers and the false news.
Both have preceded the mayor of Fuenlabrada and candidate for re-election, Javier Ayala, also supported by the candidate for mayor of the capital, Reyes Maroto, or the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
