Santiago de Compostela, Apr 23 (EFE).- Betis Basketball took a giant step towards permanence after chaining its second consecutive victory on the Monbus Obradoiro track (67-82), after overcoming a disastrous first quarter and led By Tyson Perez, DairisBertans, and Jean Montero.
The Sevillian team’s letter of introduction was two baskets in just over a minute. But from that moment until the start of the second quarter, when Jeremy Pargo punished the Galician defense with two consecutive three-pointers, he only hit another two.
His success rate was terrible despite making good shooting selections (3/12 in two-point shots and 0/4 in triples), and only Obradoiro’s mistake (4/17 in field goals) prevented his rival from He distanced himself in the mail.
The Galician team took control of the game after an 8-0 run, and shot up at the start of the second quarter (18-8, min.12). Betis was touched, but was revived with an exhibition by the American point guard Pargo, who signed 11 points in a row. Three of his three-pointers and another from Bertans forced Moncho Fernández to call a timeout (21-22, min.15).
The Galician jam blurred it, as usual, the Canadian Kassius Robertson with a triple, but it was temporary. His team continued to deny (2/11 in triples in 20 minutes) and the errors multiplied despite the changes by Moncho Fernández. And Betis, much more intense in defense, grew simply by raising their success rate.
Betis’s advantage grew to eight points at halftime (28-34), with some whistle from the stands for their players. The Obradoiro had a threat of reaction (33-38), but his errors returned to oxygenate the block of Luis Casimiro, who struck with a partial 2-11. Moncho Fernández, desperate, stopped the game again (33-49, min.26). His anger made his players react, who, with greater intensity, returned the set.
But Obradoiro was condemned with his mistakes. It was not his afternoon, and with just under 8 minutes to go, his rival distanced himself again (49-61). Moncho stopped the Sevillian gale. His team continued to fail a lot, and Betis, who lost his life in the duel to depend on himself, no longer allowed him to get close.
