The movement itself has posted the development of the eviction on social networks, which began shortly before five in the morning, with two of the activists from La Molinera perched on the roof of the building, who were finally lowered by the firefighters through of an autoscale.
The La Molinera collective has made an appeal through the networks to “Resist, move forward and win! 10, 100, 1000 social centers”, as they have tweeted.
National Police sources have explained to Efe that they have deployed a broad device after the eviction order received from the court.
In the place where the old occupied hotel is located, between Avenida de Salamanca and Avenida de Gijón in Valladolid, several units of the National Police have appeared, including the Police Intervention Unit (UIP), the Local Police, which has come to block traffic on Avenida Salamanca for a few moments, and the city fire brigade.
According to the same sources, there has been no incident and it has been “a quiet eviction without detainees.”
For their part, the activists of La Molinera, who have called a press conference at 11:00 a.m., have explained that “this morning at 4:30 a.m., in a joint operation by the Police Information Brigade, the riot police and the Fire Department , with the corresponding vehicles as well as a drone flying over the area, an operation of a violent and intimidating nature was carried out”.
“Despite the ungodly hour, in fifteen minutes several dozen activists gathered in defense of the social project that had been developed over the years in this space,” they added.
On April 5, the squatters of the old hotel received a judicial notification with a period of 20 days for the forced eviction of the social center, after the property was purchased in March 2022; a few days after another eviction from the okupa social center was attempted on March 21. EFE
