Oviedo (EFE).- The PP of Asturias will carry out a broad renewal of its regional candidacy for the May 28 elections in which only three of its current deputies will repeat among the top fifteen positions in the central constituency while it will incorporate two leaders from Ciudadanos.
As PP sources have informed EFE, a list is expected to be ratified by Genoa this afternoon which, in the central constituency -where 34 seats are distributed and the PP obtained six in 2019-, will be headed by Diego Canga, followed by the former president of the Gijón PP Pilar Fernández Pardo, and the current parliamentary spokeswoman Beatriz Polledo.
Polledo is together with number four on the list and head of the PP in Gijón, Pablo González, and number six Gloria García, the only three deputies who repeat compared to 2019 while fifth place is reserved for the parliamentarian in previous and current legislatures Canga campaign spokesman, José Agustín-Cuervas Mons, ahead of the leader of Nuevas Generaciones, Andrés Ruiz.
The eighth place will correspond to Susana Fernández from Aviles while the ninth will be occupied by the until now councilor for Citizens in the Oviedo City Council José Luis Costillas, ahead of Sandra Camino and the until now parliamentarian of the orange party Manuel Cifuentes.
Positions twelve and thirteen will go to former deputies Rafael Alonso and Pedro de Rueda, followed by Nuria González Nuevo-Quiñones and Soledad Gorrite.
Venta will lead the eastern and Queipo the western
In the eastern constituency – where five seats are distributed and the PP won two four years ago – the announced return of the former general secretary Luis Venta will take place at the head of a list in which the former mayor of Villaviciosa José Manuel Felgueres falls to second place compared to 2019 and incorporates Elena Solerón as a novelty at number three.
For the western region -which distributes six positions of which the popular ones achieved two in 2019- the popular candidacy will once again be headed by the current secretary general Álvaro Queipo and Cristina Vega will repeat as number two while the third position, which she held in 2019 the councilor Silvia Pérez, will be for the former mayor of Coaña Salvador Méndez.
