Toledo (EFE).- The Infocam Plan of the regional government has extinguished this Sunday, around half past four in the afternoon, the forest fire that broke out last Tuesday in the Alto Tajo Natural Park, in Guadalajara, and which has destroyed just over 200 hectares of pine forest.
Sources from the Castilla-La Mancha Fire Prevention and Extinction Service have informed Efe that, during the five days that the fire has lasted, a total of 47 means have acted in the area, including 10 aerial and 37 ground, and a total of 218 professionals.
The fire, which began at 3:35 p.m. on the 11th in Ocentejo, was controlled around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, although three land media and ten troops remained active in the area.
Regarding the causes of the fire, the Minister of Sustainable Development, José Luis Escudero, explained this week that everything pointed to negligence, an “involuntary neglect”, for which he called for extreme measures when going out into the natural environment and announced that the next Governing Council will approve measures to restrict the use of fire (barbecues).
