Portbou (Girona) (EFE).- The fire declared this Sunday in Portbou (Girona), after the fire entered this border town from France, is stabilized, according to reports from the Generalitat Fire Brigade, who work in the area with a endowment quarantine.
The troops are currently acting with the water line and with manual tools after achieving the objectives set during the night and after the flames have not crossed the area of ravines located next to a swamp and affected the southern slope of the mountain .
The fire is still active and the N-260 road as it passes through Portbou in a northerly direction and, on the French side, the RD-914 between Cervera and Banyuls, as confirmed by the Catalan Traffic Service.
As regards the rail service, Civil Protection reports that the route of the R11 train ends in Portbou due to the proximity of the fire.
This fire, according to the latest balance of the Rural Agents, has so far affected 96.37 hectares of the Protected Natural Area of the Albera Massif, in Portbou.
