Valencia, (EFE) they will still be able to return preventively.
Almenar has reported the last hour of the fire after the meeting of the extinction commands and the mayor of Alzira, Diego Gómez.
Favorable evolution throughout the day
The evolution has followed the trend of the first hour and has been favourable, indicated the head of the Interior, who has ensured that the work of the five aerial means and the 100 ground means has allowed the fire to be considered stabilized at 8:00 p.m.
Almenar has indicated that from now on a new scenario opens, although “the guard will not be lowered” and ground units will continue to work during the night, although the troops that have been working today will be de-escalated. There will be “no less than 50”, the troops that will carry out different tasks in the 40 hectares that make up the perimeter of the fire.
The general director has pointed out that “although there have been times when the weather has not been very favorable for us”, the work of refreshing the aerial and ground personnel with the manual tool has managed to greatly reduce the risk factors.
So much so, he added, that “during the afternoon we have not had any reproduction within the perimeter, but rather some smoke that has been suffocated by aerial means.”
It has not affected the area of La Murta
A fire that “fortunately has not affected the Murta area,” Almenar has assured. Something that has happened “thanks to the work of the troops.”
The eviction for prevention is maintained
Regarding the eviction of people, around 130, it will be maintained in a preventive manner, since “there is still a risk” and the extinction director, the mayor and the rest of the technicians, “we have thought it convenient to leave until tomorrow morning that decision”, when it is verified that there are no reproductions and the perimeter is fresh, he added.
The drones will make flights with a thermal camera to see the hot spots that may exist and, therefore, the people who have left their chalets and second homes will have to wait until tomorrow to see if they can return.
Some neighbors, he recalled, who are people who were spending Easter in their second homes, and it has only been necessary to relocate a couple from La Rioja who was renting a property.
Regarding the causes of the fire, he recalled that yesterday there was no atmospheric phenomenon that makes us think that it started due to natural causes -such as lightning or a dry storm- and therefore, “because of the place where it originated, the first means that arrived”, the first hypotheses point to the fact that the hand of man could have been behind this fire that “has not necessarily been caused”, but could also be “negligence or imprudence”.
