Pamplona (EFE).- With you Navarra-Zurekin Nafarroa, a coalition made up of Podemos, IUN, Batzarre, Independientes, Alianza Verde and Verdes Equo, has carried out its registration on Thursday with the electoral board with the “illusion” of a project ” Pioneer” in the Foral Community.
After registering the coalition, the Contigo Navarra candidate for the presidency of the regional government, Begoña Alfaro, from Podemos, has told the media that “this is only the beginning” of a project that will also present municipal candidacies that cover more than 60% of the Navarrese population.
Nominations will be presented, he explained, “in those municipalities where there are already successful progress candidacies.”
Contigo Navarra “is a pioneering project, a project for the medium and long term, which has come to stay and this is the beginning of everything that lies ahead of us”, indicated Alfaro, who stressed that “we are clear that we are going to grow in representativeness”.
“We have no doubt, not only that we are going to grow in representativeness, but that we are going to be key for the next Government of Navarra to be progressive, we are clear that we do not want a new right-wing government and in that sense tilt the balance towards the left”, highlighted the candidate.
Mauleón criticizes the “marriage” of the right
For his part, the candidate for mayor of Pamplona, Txema Mauleón, from Batzarre, has assured that these days “in Pamplona we are especially witnessing a kind of ‘married couple’ on the right who plays to steal each other’s wallets and meanwhile we see that the city has no government, it has no direction”.
In Contigo Navarra, he added, “we are especially excited, because finally all the green and progressive lefts of Navarra are going together in a coalition that we believe will be key and will be a guarantee of change in Pamplona so that we can have a Government of progressive lefts in the city”.
In this regard, he has declared that in Pamplona “we are facing a lost legislature”, because “in the midst of the covid crisis, in the midst of the Ukrainian war crisis” there have been “three budget extensions”. Pamplona, he has said, is now “a city without direction and therefore, faced with this situation, today is a day of illusion, of unity of all the green forces of the left.”
Guzmán bets on uniting the alternative left
The number two of Contigo Navarra in the regional elections, Carlos Guzmán, from IUN, has highlighted that this Thursday closes “a beautiful stage that we began on July 2 and that finally materializes” with the registration of the coalition.
Guzmán has considered that in this way “we more than fulfilled the objective that we set ourselves on July 2 of trying to bring together the whole of the alternative left of Navarra” and has stressed that Contigo Navarra “is the coalition, the political project that best suits It looks like Navarra and we believe that this is how the citizens of the left will see it”.
