Barcelona (EFE).- Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, will offer the club’s official version regarding the ‘Negreira case’ next Monday, April 17 (11:00 a.m.), according to sources from the Barça club to EFE.
After the case of millionaire payments from the Barcelona entity to the former vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), José María Enríquez Negreira, broke out at the beginning of February, the club ordered an external investigation to clarify the ends of a relationship that had lasted for 17 years (2001-2018).
For this reason, the club contacted the expert lawyer in ‘compliance’ (audit control), Andreu van den Eynde, who would have finalized his report so that Laporta offers his version at the president’s first press conference on the matter.
As a result of the aforementioned payments, Barcelona is being investigated by Court number 1 of the Catalan capital for various crimes of corruption.
