Santander (EFE).- The Maritime Rescue robot that arrived in Santander this Sunday tries, since early Monday morning, to access the Vilaboa Uno, in search of the Peruvian sailor who disappeared last Monday in the shipwreck of this fishing boat.
Yesterday, Sunday, this robot managed to locate the wreck that is sunk at a depth of about 120 meters off the coast of the Cantabrian capital.
The Maritime Rescue robot operates from the ship Don Inda, which has transported it from Ferrol (A Coruña) and will focus on the in-depth search for the crew member of Vilaboa Uno.
On the surface by air, the search also continues this Monday with the Helimer 202 helicopters of Salvamento Marítimo and Cuco of the Civil Guard, while by sea there are the patrol boats Río Aller and Río Guadalhorce of the Civil Guard and the Salvamar Deneb, of Salvage.
The Vilaboa Uno sank at dawn last Monday with ten crew members on board, seven of whom were rescued by boats that were in the area, after notifying the Maritime Rescue that it had a leak in the hull, while others Two, the skipper of the ship from Santander and a Ghanaian crew member, died of hypothermia.
