Madrid/Valladolid (EFE).- The writer Fernando Sánchez Dragó (Madrid, 1936) died this morning of a heart attack at his home in the Soria town of Castilfrío de la Sierra (Soria), family sources have informed EFE.
The mayor of the town, Joaquín Cobo, has confirmed to EFE the death of the writer that occurred around 10 in the morning in the house where he lived with his partner.
The first to assist Sánchez Dragó were his own neighbors, including a nurse, who tried to revive him until the emergency services arrived.
The Emergency services of 112 in Castilla y León have explained to EFE that they have received a notice at 9:57 a.m. and an ambulance and a helicopter have traveled to the place.
Moments before suffering the heart attack, the writer had posted a message on his Twitter account in which he was seen with his cat on his head and in which he assured: “Nano the cat says good morning to me. He knows that the secret of almost everything is in the head”.
Writer, journalist, essayist, literary critic and television presenter, he was a trained philologist. National Essay Award (1979) and Planeta Award (1992), he practiced all literary genres. EFE
