Santa Cruz de Tenerife, (EFE).- The Guardamar Polimnia has carried out in the last hours the rescue of 145 immigrants who were moving in a boat in waters close to the Canary Islands, the island where they have landed, EFE sources have informed Maritime Rescue.
The sources have indicated that it is a triple intervention that began around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and ended around 9:00 a.m. this Sunday, and they have added that of the total number of people rescued, 141 are adult men, 2 women, and two children, and all are in apparent good health.
An intervention that has been coordinated by Salvamento Marítimo de Las Palmas and in the case of the first boat, 48 adult men, a woman and a child, all of North African origin, have been rescued, while in the second boat there were 52 adult men and a woman, sub-saharan.
In the third boat there were 41 adult men and one child, of North African origin, and all the rescued people have been disembarked in the port of Arrecife. EFE
