Toledo (EFE).- The CSIF union has condemned the insults and threats, including xenophobic comments, by a patient to a doctor at the Bolaños de Calatrava health center (Ciudad Real).
In a statement, the CSIF has explained that the events happened this Holy Wednesday afternoon.
The doctor asked the patient for his last names to access his medical history and find out his data and history, treatments or allergies, as dictated by the protocol.
The man began “aggressive behavior”, insulted her with xenophobic comments, including “shitty Ecuadorian”, and confronted her violently.
The nurse, who was also yelled at and insulted, tried to reassure the patient without success, and despite calling 112, the man continued to threaten the doctor.
“You will find out, you do not know who you are talking to. I am not afraid of the Civil Guard, nor of the Police, they will find out, if you were a man you would have already found out,” said the man, according to the CSIF.
The doctor and the nurse have reported to the Civil Guard
A Civil Guard team went to the center and later the doctor and the nurse filed a complaint.
CSIF has shown its “absolute condemnation” of any type of violence against health personnel and xenophobic attitudes towards non-EU workers.
They also demanded that there be at least one security guard in each center to prevent attacks and threats against health professionals.
