Toledo (EFE) 7,453 people (-4.97%) than in March last year.
Social Security, for its part, added 5,699 affiliates (0.76%) in March to reach 750,783 contributors in Castilla-La Mancha.
Compared to last year, 9,385 more affiliates (1.27%) were registered, according to data published this Tuesday by the Ministries of Labor and Social Security and Migration on unemployment and affiliation for the month of March.
In Spain, Social Security gained 206,410 affiliates on average in March, the largest increase for this month in the entire historical series; while unemployment fell by 48,755 people to 2.86 million, the lowest figure for a March since 2008.
The Ministry of Labor highlights that the drop in unemployment in March, a month in which hiring begins to be activated for Easter and the strongest months of the tourist season, is “especially positive” in an economic context of uncertainty.
Castilla-La Mancha, the fourth community where unemployment fell the most in March
By autonomous communities, Castilla-La Mancha is the fourth in which unemployment fell the most compared to the month of February, behind Andalusia, the Canary Islands and Castilla y León.
By Castilian-La Mancha provinces, the five registered decreases in the number of unemployed in March in relation to the previous month.
In total, there were 1,107 fewer unemployed in Albacete, 781 in Ciudad Real, 452 in Cuenca, 796 in Guadalajara and 1,057 fewer unemployed in Toledo.
In year-on-year terms, unemployment also fell in the five provinces, with 1,515 fewer unemployed in Albacete, 2,509 in Ciudad Real, 421 in Cuenca, 941 in Guadalajara and 2,067 fewer unemployed in the province of Toledo.
Of the total of 142,389 Castilian-La Mancha unemployed, 49,454 were men and 92,935 women; In addition, a total of 10,866 unemployed were under 25 years of age, of whom 5,365 were men and 5,501 women.
Unemployment falls in the service sector and rises in the group without previous employment
By sectors of economic activity, of the 4,193 fewer unemployed registered in March, 3,665 corresponded to the service sector; 279 to construction, 212 to agriculture and 180 to industry; and unemployment only rose in the group without previous employment, by 143.
In the month of March, 48,930 contracts were signed in Castilla-La Mancha, which is 6,834 more than in February (16.23%), although 9,819 less than in March last year (-16.71%).
There were 21,578 permanent contracts, and 27,352 temporary.
