Pamplona (EFE).- The president of the Parliament of Navarra, Unai Hualde, has indicated that, in the difficult moments of the legislature, all the groups have known how to put the “general interest” before “partisan differences”.
Hualde has taken stock of the legislature on the day in which the President of the Government, María Chivite, has signed the call for elections for next May 28.
He stressed that the fact that the Government did not have a parliamentary majority “is the sign of the plurality of this land.”
“At the beginning I said that it was a challenge because it required understanding with other political forces and the circumstances made it essential to understand each other,” he added.
107 laws approved in four years
“I have always defended that dialogue and agreement in Parliament were going to be important for the initiatives to go forward,” Hualde explained.
He has detailed that the Provincial Chamber has approved 107 laws in these four years, one more than the previous legislature.
It has also approved 15 regional legislative decrees, 22 regional decree laws and 4 modifications to the economic agreement. Hualde has also highlighted the new Parliament Regulations.
The Chamber has registered 326 resolutions, derived from more than 400 motions, 242 institutional declarations, three plans and 176 interpellations, 1,469 oral questions and 1,605 written questions.
A legislature marked by covid-19 and the war in Ukraine
A legislature with “a lot of activity” and that “has not been easy due to the covid-19 pandemic and the effects of the war”, but that has had “four extraordinary budgets and laws to deal with the crisis”.
The president of the Chamber has valued the dialogue and agreement between different political forces to appoint a new ombudsman, the president of the Chamber of Comptos and the person who heads the Anti-Corruption Office.
“Parliament has remained open to participation. Attracting groups to our Parliament was an objective and it has been achieved. Navarra has an important network of associations and they are a fundamental part of our social and economic situation, and I have been able to verify this ”, he added.
