Logroño, (EFE).- The reform of the hundred-year-old Haro Oenological Station (La Rioja) will increase its analytical, research and training capacity and will reinforce its commitment to serve the wine sector, making it a key part of the International Campus Of the wine.
The president of the Government of La Rioja, Concha Andreu, has presented this Monday the reform project of the Station, which is expected to begin this year with a budget of 3.65 million euros from European funds.
“We are going to profoundly reform these facilities, respecting the existing buildings and their integration into the environment, to put the Haro Wine Station at the international forefront”, Andreu stated, “with resources and ambition, with a project for the future” .
The Haro Oenological Station has been, for more than 130 years, a national reference in the wine sector, with an innovative approach, which is reinforced with cutting-edge technology, the president recalled.
“In few places is the transfer of knowledge between the research sector and the productive sector so real, with enormous benefits for La Rioja, as here. A benchmark with an exciting horizon before it ”, she added.
The Jarrera Oenological Station, “given the extraordinary opportunity represented by European funds and the Enorregion project”, must evolve and become part of the International Wine Campus, so that “La Rioja is a true international benchmark in wine research”.
This Station, the Institute of Vine and Wine Sciences and the University of La Rioja (UR), he said, will form “a great scientific complex and a common space for research and excellent training in the wine field”.
The investment of 3.65 million euros is intended to increase the scientific and technical capacity of the Station; and improve quality, safety and traceability controls. EFE
