Toledo (EFE).- The documentation of the Project of Singular Interest (PSI) of the Meta Data Campus in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo) is open to public information, including environmental effects, for thirty days once it has received approval initial.
This is stated in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, which publishes this last day of March the resolution of the Ministry of Public Works with the initial approval and submission to public information of the Meta Data Center Campus project promoted by the company Zarza Networks, owned by the parent company Meta.
The purpose of the PSI in public information is to develop a Data Center Campus as an expansion of the presence of Meta Europe, so that it will be “a key center for Spain and southern Europe”, according to information in the Official Gazette.
The new Meta facilities, similar to those operating in other European countries
The new facilities will be similar in function and scale to those currently operating in other European countries.
In this sense, the Data Center Campus will house the operations and the information technology equipment of the company used for the digital production, processing and storage of data that allow it to provide services through its applications.
The scope of the PSI occupies some 191 hectares of land in the Torrehierro Phase 2 industrial estate, about 12 kilometers west of the urban center of Talavera de la Reina.
The current buildable area of the industrial area of Torrehierro Phase 2 is 1,007,586 square meters and the PSI is going to reduce it “considerably”, since the maximum lucrative buildable area will be 137,000 built square meters.
Likewise, for urban planning purposes, 93,209 square meters of land are recognized for public facilities and 492,550 square meters for green areas and open spaces, as surfaces for compulsory transfers.
The Meta Data Campus in Talavera de la Reina will consolidate an investment project of more than 1,000 million euros, of which 911 million will be allocated to the construction of the Data Center, whose works will be carried out within a maximum period of 10 years from its start.
Meta registered the project for this Data Center in Talavera de la Reina on March 22, so the regional Administration has taken nine days for its initial approval.
