Logroño, (EFE) of service, love and loyalty to Spain, and commitment to Europe”.
Andreu closed the Conference on employment and industry organized by the Rioja PSOE in Logroño, in which the First Vice President of the Government of Spain and Minister of Economic Affairs, Nadia Calviño, also participated.
The general secretary of the La Riojan socialists has shown herself convinced that the party she leads will “win and govern” after the regional and municipal elections on May 28, “to continue changing things, because change must be consolidated” .
Three strategic projects
He highlighted the Enorregion project launched this legislature by the regional government, which seeks to “lead the future of the wine sector with digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI)”, since, he said, La Rioja is the autonomous community in whose Gross Domestic Product (GDP) this sector has more weight.
The Qualified Denomination of Origin (DOCa) Rioja, has continued, “is only committed to selling wines of exceptional quality”, because this region has “360 wineries, 12,000 wine brands, the best winery in the world, the best oenologist in the world, the best oenologist in Spain and the best wine in the world”.
He stressed that, for the creation of the future National Center for Packaging and Packaging Technologies, which will be located in Calahorra from 2025, the Governments of Spain and La Rioja will jointly invest 40 million euros.
This center, he continued, “is going to have to do 100 percent with the green revolution, and will attract new investments, projects and innovation to transfer solutions to the packaging and packaging sector”.
Andreu has highlighted that the Valle de la Lengua initiative has involved “investments unknown up to now in this autonomous community to make it a world reference in the new language economy”.
Among these investments, he has detailed “the 21.5 million euros for the promotion of cultural, language, gastronomic, oenological and natural tourism; the 7.5 million euros for the creation of cultural containers that allow the development of business initiatives; and the 9 million euros for the Voces de la Lengua project”.
Leadership, vision of the future and pride
For his part, Calviño has praised Andreu’s management at the head of the La Rioja government, in which he has shown that he has “leadership, vision of the future and pride”, three qualities that, even, “he has plenty of”.
He stressed that, with international circumstances marked by uncertainty, the Government has opted for fiscal responsibility, social justice and structural reforms looking to the future.
“To stay still at this moment is to go back. Thanks to this economic policy we have been able to respond to the crises and difficulties of the last three years, such as a pandemic, a war at the gates of Europe, the volatility of the banking markets”, he recounted.
In this sense, the vice president first stressed that the Government has acted “effectively, responsibly and rigorously, responding first to what is urgent, but without losing sight of what is essential.”
