Santa Cruz De Tenerife (EFE) million euros as part of the roadmap to win bathing areas for the city.
José Manuel Bermúdez communicated this draft at a press conference together with Carlos Tarife, councilor for the Salud-La Salle district; Dámaso Arteaga, mayor of Works and Infrastructures, and the architect responsible for the project, Alejandro Beautell.
It is “a complex process because it involves several administrations” and Bermúdez has insisted that “the roadmap aims to recover the bathing areas that are not municipal competence” and has specified that the City Council has the approval of the Authority Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife for this first phase.
For “Tinglado” to become a reality, a collaboration agreement between both parties is necessary in a space that would have 2,000 square meters of equipment, in addition to 1,600 square meters of garden areas.
Beautell has defined his idea as “an informal, familiar and open occupation” because, he added, the architecture of the project promises not to be “invasive”, and he has added that there will also be children’s areas, dog parks, restaurants and other elements of leisure.
Among the novelties included in the design are the kiosks, based on a reinterpretation of maritime containers and, although access to the sea is not included in the technical report, they promise that it will be “a future project”.
Carlos Tarife has recognized that a citizen devised the proposal.
“Thanks to the fact that a neighbor, who is in this room today, asked us for an urban report on January 5, 2021, it is possible (this project) that it has been fought very well in the Port-City commission”, has sentenced the councilor.
The current works in the treatment plant and the permit from the General Directorate of Coasts condition future access to the sea, the mayor of the capital of Tenerife has indicated, but despite this, Bermúdez has emphasized that “from today Shed becomes a project strategic. Whoever governs governs this project will be launched ”. EFE
