Madrid (EFE).- Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, has convened “urgently”, this Sunday, the club’s Board of Directors after learning on Friday that the Prosecutor’s Office denounced Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell, ex-presidents of the club, for the Negreira case.
“Given the seriousness of the accusations made by the Barcelona Prosecutor’s Office against FC Barcelona and two of its presidents for well-founded suspicions of corruption and their relations with whoever was the vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees, José María Enríquez Negreira, the president has Urgently summoned to the Board of Directors for Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. ”, announced a Real Madrid statement posted on its website on Saturday.
The purpose of this call is to “decide on the actions that Real Madrid deems appropriate in relation to this matter”.
The Negreira case that went one step further on Friday after the Prosecutor’s Office denounced FC Barcelona and its former presidents Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell in court for the alleged millionaire payments to the former arbitration leader José María Enríquez Negreira, for the crimes of corruption between individuals, unfair administration and documentary falsification.
The complaint is the result of investigations that the Barcelona Prosecutor’s Office has been open for nearly a year for alleged payments to Negreira, who through a company would have received almost seven million euros from Barça for allegedly verbal advice to the club.
