Madrid (EFE).- The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, has announced that this Friday a meeting of the social dialogue table with employers and unions has been called to try to close the pension reform.
“This must be understood as that we are practically reaching an agreement,” Escrivá pointed out during his speech at the III Finance Observatory organized by El Español and Invertia, where he pointed out that all the elements of the reform have been discussed “in depth with the European Commission.
The last block of the pension reform, which includes the uncapping of the maximum contributions and the computation period, among other aspects, is part of the milestones committed to Brussels for the fourth payment of the European Next Generation funds linked to the Recovery Plan , Transformation and Resilience.

“We are going to leave a sustainable, reasonable, credible system with the endorsement of those who really matter”, Escrivá has defended.
Meeting in February with the European Commissioner for the Economy
Escrivá held a meeting at the end of February with the European Commissioner for the Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, to analyze “detail by detail” this reform that he hopes to unlock in “the next few days”, he insisted this Thursday.
The European Commission must evaluate this reform as part of those milestones that condition a new payment of the funds.
The general secretary of UGT, Pepe Álvarez, explained yesterday that, together with the calculation period, there are several issues that the union has raised, such as the minimum years necessary to be able to access the pension or the treatment of contribution gaps.
“We have not put red lines (…) The Government knows in what context it could count on our support,” Álvarez has slipped.
On the other hand, the CCOO Secretary for Public Policies and Social Protection, Carlos Bravo, has asked the Government to convene, since “the worst scenario is not to achieve this reform.”
“Times are tight and you have to unlock”, Bravo pointed out.
