Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura), (EFE).- The Amazon Prime platform has requested permission to film part of the second season of the series “Los anillos de poder” in Fuerteventura, one of its big bets, as confirmed this Friday by President of the Island Council, Sergio Lloret.
Despite the secrecy with which some of these shoots are usually carried out, Sergio Lloret has made public the request for permits to film in Fuerteventura in a statement in which he reproaches the Urban Planning area of the Pájara City Council for not having granted it yet, due to to a bureaucratic delay.
In fact, he explained that he had to speak with Pedro Armas, the mayor of Pájara, who has taken the reins of the matter to finalize the permits.
The president of the Island Corporation has assured that he is in contact with the producer and has “no official knowledge that he has withdrawn, because the file is still pending.”
The confirmation of the efforts, which until now had been carried out with total discretion, has coincided with the publication on social networks of photos of tourists who maintain that the series could be on the air in Tenerife, specifically in the Teide National Park (season 1 ends with the eruption of a volcano in the Southlands), but in that case the authorities of that island have declined to comment on it.
“The Rings of Power” is based on the universe of stories born from the imagination of the British writer JRR Tolkien.
Although some of its characters are common (basically elves, with millennial lives in Tolkien’s stories), the fiction takes place thousands of years before “The Hobbit” and the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy of books, also taken to the movies
