Sports writing (EFE).- The Spanish Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), double Formula One world champion, who had already been the fastest in Friday’s tests, set the best time this Saturday in the third and last free practice for the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first of the Formula One World Cup, which is held at the Sakhir circuit.
The Asturian double world champion covered, in his best lap -with a soft compound tyre- Sakhir’s 5,412 meters in one minute, 32 seconds and 340 thousandths, five less than the Dutchman Max Verstappen -who defends the title- and with 106 over the another Red Bull driver, the Mexican Sergio Pérez, who marked the second and third times, respectively.
