Logroño, Mar 2 (EFE).- The Ministry of Health monitors cases of dengue originating in Ibiza in order to “anticipate” the situation, Minister Carolina Darias said Thursday in Logroño.
“If the covid-19 pandemic has taught anything, it is the importance of surveillance, monitoring and coordination in public health,” added Darias in an informative meeting, after visiting one of the environments in which the City Council of the capital Riojana develops the projects Pasos Saludables and Calles Abiertas.
On the other hand, the minister, regarding avian flu, has assured that there is no news and her department “is always monitoring, with maximum vigilance and attention.”
Regarding mental health, he stressed that “for the Government of Spain it is a priority” and commented that with regard to suicide “we have gone from silence to debate to make it visible and from debate to action”.
He recalled that at this time the Mental Health Strategy has been updated, which “had not been updated for more than 12 years and we have done it by mutual agreement.”
The minister referred to the development of the Mental Health Action Plan, with initiatives such as the 024 suicidal behavior hotline, which “since it was launched in the middle of last year, there have been more than 93,000 calls received and around 30 percent of people under 30 years of age”.
