Palma, Mar 1 (EFE).- Members of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) have arrived at 5:00 this Wednesday in Mallorca to join the work carried out by the security forces and institutions to restore normality on the island, where ten roads continue to be cut by the effects of the Juliette storm.
As reported by the Civil Guard, the military is already involved in cleaning the impassable roads due to the accumulation of snow, trees and stones that hinder the road as a result of the rainfall and the wind of the last two days.
The Ma-10 roads are closed, which runs along the Serra de Tramuntana, between kilometers 6 and 47.5 (Fornalutx-Pollença); the Ma-11A, from Coll de Sóller (from kilometers 16.9 to 27.7); the Ma-2100, in the 18 kilometers from Bunyola to Orient, and the Ma-2130, from Caimari to Llucc (kilometers 7 to 15).
The Ma-2141, Sa Calobra road is also closed; the Ma-2131, from Campanet to Selva; that of Formentor, Ma-2210, in its 19.6 kilometers; the Ma-3433, from Sa Pobla to Playa de Muro (from the start to kilometer 8); the Ma-4011 in Felanitx, and the Ma-5018, from Cura to Randa.
At 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, an emergency team made up of forest agents, firefighters, personnel from the island’s Highway Service, Civil Protection and civil guards, accessed the Lluc monastery, in the center of the Tramuntana, where there were 100 refugees. .
After a day of intense work, the specialists came to the sanctuary to guarantee the safety of those who took refuge there from the storm, of whom 25 decided to return to their places of residence in their own vehicles and those of the emergency services.
Under the escort of the Civil Guard, an evacuation caravan was organized that passed without incident.
