New York (EFE) competition to the successful ChatGPT.
The web portal The Information, which cites three sources, ensures that Musk intends for his chatbot to be less “woke”, that is, with fewer content restrictions on controversial issues due to political, racial or sexual sensitivities.
To this end, it has hired Igor Babuschkin, an engineer who has just left Alphabet’s AI unit called Deep Mind and who specializes in developing machine learning guidelines capable of making chat more sophisticated and credible.
Musk has not confirmed those plans, but on his Twitter account today he published a meme in which he refers to the matter.
The “woke” trend of political correctness has obsessed Elon Musk, who frequently accuses the traditional media – newspapers and television networks – of having succumbed to speech restrictions and censoring “free speech”.
Musk was one of the co-founders of OpenAI, the company that developed ChatGPT, but left the firm in 2018 to avoid potential conflicts of interest since Tesla, the electric vehicle company he runs, was also working on artificial intelligence.
Microsoft warns of more news about its “chatbot”
For its part, Microsoft announced that a new update to its Windows 11 operating system will include a shortcut on the taskbar to its artificial intelligence chat (chatbot), Bing.
Last week, the technology giant already announced that Bing will also be accessible through smartphones and the Skype platform.
At the moment, the new version of Bing, which includes artificial intelligence and which appeared 3 weeks ago, is only accessible to one million people in 169 countries.
“It’s a new era in search, chat and creation, and with the new Bing and (the mobile application of) Edge you now have your own co-pilot for the web,” says the note from the company created by Bill Gates.
On the mobile app, users can tap the Bing icon to start a chat session, through which they can ask a variety of questions with text messages or with their voices, according to the statement.
