This includes the collection of documentation referring to the senator’s assets, who could be summoned to give explanations together with other people summoned to contribute to the intended purposes.
The spokesperson for the socialist group in the Upper House, Eva Granados, celebrated the decision adopted by the commission at a press conference because it contributes to the “accountability” before the citizenry to which all public representatives are obliged and has stressed that “without transparency, there is no honesty”.
For her part, the mayoress of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz (PP), was satisfied last week that justice has once again told the Socialists that “they have no reason” and has warned them that their “attacks” will not they are going to “move not even half a millimeter”.
Muñoz made these statements after the National Court once again rejected the PSOE’s request to appear as a private prosecution in the case in which the Swedish businessman Joakim Broberg, the councilor’s stepson, is being prosecuted for drug trafficking.
He regretted that the PSOE tries to “make political use of something in which neither the City Council nor anyone from the government team has anything to do” with a view to the next municipal elections. EFE
